Ep 3: Discovering the Secret Formula

Finding comfort in embracing the unknown is the key element that brings together writer Haley Mullins and sound artists Tanners and Kerry Blu as they discuss the ways that art and vulnerability can lead to some pretty major breakthroughs.

Haley Mullins (writer) is the managing editor for Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy (CASSE), a 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the public on limits to growth and advancing a new, sustainable economic paradigm. Their creative writing career began after unintentionally winning the North Carolina Reading Association’s Young Authors competition in the 8th grade at the school, county, and state levels. Haley later completed their BA in English/Creative Writing at Appalachian State University and their MPS in Publishing from George Washington University. Their work primarily consists of difficult topics like mental health, climate breakdown, and social justice.

Tanners (soundie) is the psych-pop project of Tanner Peterson, a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. With support from FADER, NYLON, Stereogum, and Rolling Stone behind her previous singles, the Tennessee-turned-New Yorker draws from psychedelic, otherworldly sounds and big pop hooks to create her own blend of electro-pop, sitting somewhere between Robyn and Tame Impala.
