A simple number adds a special sense of complexity to a discussion about luck, spirituality, and signs from the universe with writer Brittany Adams and sound artists Darryl Stephens and djones.

Brittany Adams (writer) was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and currently resides in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Brittany’s works as a chemist, but likes to frequently delve into her creative side through cooking and painting. You can find her on Instagram to take a look at her life as a 30-something year old woman navigating in the big city.

Darryl Stephens (soundie) is an Atlanta-based business owner and self-proclaimed music fanatic. He is the CEO and Cofounder of Bass Parlour, a mobile app focused on connecting independent musicians throughout the world. Darryl has a background in both music and business. He started his career as a sound designer for EA Sports working on several sports games and went on to attain an M.B.A. from Howard University. He launched the Bass Parlour music app after hosting several music collaboration showcases in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, and seeing the need for an efficient way for indie musicians to connect and create.

djones (he/him) is an Atlanta-based polymath originally from Youngstown, OH. A doctoral student at Georgia State in Moving Image Studies, he is part of the liquid blackness project, a research group on blackness as aesthetics. He is a filmmaker, educator, and co-founder of "urban nu-sense".

djones "the soundie" is an independent hip-hop artist and former host of the Hip Hop Shop in Athens, OH. His catalog reaches back to the last century (1999) and continues to grow with several projects currently in the works. djones's work is deeply invested in blackness, the archive, and solidarity-building.
